OK. Creepy kid in mask…pretty neat. Wait….wait for it! Creepy kid in multiple creepy masks being creepy?! NICE. This film has a lot more potential then it wound up with and I think a lot of it has to do with the acting. I know it’s not rocket surgery or brain science to “act” in a found footage film, but the dialogue seems kinda phoned in or “dude say this at this part it’ll sound cool.” There’s a few scares and a little bit of uncomfortable tension but the ending hits almost out of nowhere with an “…..oh yeah…I guess that makes sense?…” finish. Another puzzling thing, is are there more in this series of crazy unsolved found footage cases? I dunno…whatever. Hide The Monster was a pretty good watch overall, could be better but not a total stinker.
